  • What if something concerning is found?
Your health and peace of mind come first. If any serious concerns are identified, you’ll be contacted immediately. Otherwise, your results will be discussed at your follow-up appointment, and if needed, further investigations or referrals can be arranged. Where appropriate, we’ll liaise with your NHS GP to ensure seamless care.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that plans can change. If you give at least 72 hours’ notice, you’ll receive a full refund (minus transaction fees). If cancellation happens within 72 hours, a £150 fee (plus transaction fees) will be applied, as clinic room bookings are reserved specifically for you.
  • What experience does Dr. Eberwein have?
Dr. Eberwein qualified as a doctor in 2009 and has been a GP since 2016. With years of experience in both NHS and private practice, he brings extensive expertise in health assessments across the full spectrum of general medicine. You’ll be in safe, knowledgeable, and caring hands.
  • Can I bring children?
For safety reasons, we kindly ask that children are not brought along to your appointment.
  • What if I’m late?
We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early to ensure you get the most from your session. If you’re late, the appointment may need to be shortened. If something unavoidable happens, we’ll always do our best to help — your assessment can be rescheduled or refunded (subject to the £150 cancellation fee plus transaction fees).
  • Who will be looking after me?
Your entire journey — from assessments and results to follow-ups — will be personally carried out by Dr. Stephen Eberwein, ensuring continuity, care, and attention at every step.
  • Can a family member or friend join me?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring someone with you if that makes you feel more comfortable. While they won’t count as an official chaperone, they can stay with you throughout the process.
  • How will I receive my results?
You’ll receive a comprehensive written electronic report, securely encrypted and emailed directly to you. This includes your results, clear explanations, and personalised recommendations. Depending on your package, a follow-up video consultation is also included.
  • Do I need a referral from my GP?
No referral is needed — you can book directly with us. However, we recommend allowing us to share a summary with your NHS GP so your care remains consistent and coordinated.
  • What age groups do you support?
We warmly welcome adults aged 18 and above.
  • Will I need to undress during the examination?
Most assessments don’t require you to undress beyond your underwear. A Chest auscultation requires a stethoscope to be applied to your back and front. Generally this can be done by lifting up a shirt or top. In some cases it is desirable to remove a top to enable better stethoscope access. ECGs require tops to be removed so that electrodes can be placed. In most cases in females a bra can be left on but a soft non wire sports bra is recommended. Alternatively a 6 lead ECG can be performed as oppose to a 12 lead. This does not require a top to be removed. The results are less detailed but still screen for a large variety of conditions. Examinations are always discussed in detail first, and only performed with your consent. You are in complete control — if you’re uncomfortable, you do not need to proceed. Regarding male examinations, if included, an optional prostate and testicle examination can be performed. This would require removing underwear and in the case of a prostate exam would involve inserting a gloved finger into the anus in order to palpate the prostate gland and check for any irregularities. Chaperones can also be arranged on request, providing you with additional reassurance.
  • How does a private health assessment compare to the NHS?
A private assessment at Eberwein Medical is a more in-depth, personalised experience. NHS health checks are often limited to around 15 minutes, but with us, you may spend up to two hours with Dr. Eberwein, giving you the time and space to discuss your health in detail. We also screen for a broader range of conditions and provide you with comprehensive feedback and an actionable health plan.
  • Will my doctor be focused on me, or busy writing notes?
At Eberwein Medical, we want you to feel fully heard and cared for. With your consent, consultations may be audio recorded (using secure, encrypted systems) so Dr. Eberwein can give you his full attention without being distracted by note-taking. The recording is later transcribed into your medical record, then securely deleted. If you’d prefer not to be recorded, that’s absolutely fine — Dr. Eberwein will simply take notes during your appointment instead.
  • Do I need to bring identification?
Yes, for best practice we ask you to bring photo ID (such as a driving licence, passport, or ID card). This ensures we have accurate details for your records.
